Each year, the historic city of Kutaisi transforms into a vibrant hub for filmmakers and film lovers as it hosts the Kutaisi International Short Film Festival. Now in its fifth year, this festival has become a major platform for emerging talent, celebrating the art of short films while reconnecting the city with its rich cinematic roots.

The Prestigious Golden Dinosaur Award

One of the highlights of the festival is its Golden Dinosaur Award, given in three major categories:

Additionally, the festival’s jury of Georgian film critics presents a special award named after the renowned filmmaker Mikheil Kobakhidze.

Since its inception in 2020, the Kutaisi International Short Film Festival has showcased films from both Georgian and international festivals. In 2023, it gained recognition as a member of the European Festivals Association (EFA) and has partnered with prestigious film organizations such as the Oberhausen Short Film Festival, IMAGO, and the Odessa Festival.
